Desaad was a member of Darkseid's Elite and master torturer.
History
Desaad oversaw Superman's torture in order to forced the Kryptonian to revealing information of the Anti-Life Equation. He continued this torture for over four days without any success until Darkseid punished Desaad for his ignorance that he should be using the alternate term of the Equation the "Computation of Rao" in which Superman recognized.
