The Fastball Special is a popular tag-team move in superhero fiction. In a Fastball Special, a hero with superhuman strength literally throws a (usually) willing partner toward a target. The maneuver first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #100, when Wolverine had Colossus hurl him in a battle.

In "Gone Rogue", Superman and Shadowcat first executed a Fastball Special against Toad, by having the former grabbing the latter's hand and quickly spun her to dart through Toad and then making a rebound on a tree and tackle him to the ground, before cartwheeling right back to where she had started from.

In "Fated Hour, Part II", Superman and Wolverine execute the move against Sabretooth.

In "Beast Within", Superman and the Thing done a "bowling" variation against F.O.H. soldiers; in which Thing curls into a massive ball-shape and is thrown by Superman, creating a rolling effect.

In "Zero Hour, Part II", Superman and Aquaman execute the maneuver on a group of F.O.H. soldiers.
