Spyke, real name Evan Daniels, is the nephew of Storm, with the mutant ability to project bone-like spikes from his skin. He is the youngest member of the X-Men.
History[]
Evan Daniels was born in New York City and his powers mutant powers are first noticed at his high school basketball game by his aunt Ororo Monroe (Storm). Evan was invited to the Xavier Institute. While training there, he received knowledge that his school rival Pietro Maximoff (Quicksilver) was on a crime spree in New York and volunteered to help capturing him. After subduing Quicksilver with the help of Spider-Man and Superman, Evan decided to stay at the Institute.
Evan's life was later complicated when his time drinking the new soft drink Power8, which had a steroid-like effect on mutants, accelerated his mutation to the point that he could not retract or fully control his spikes. After seeing how cruelly he was treated because of his condition, Spyke was tempted to join the Morlocks but, with advice from Superman and Static, ultimately decided to remain with the X-Men. He has since been examined by Reed Richards, who has begun speculating on how they might return Evan's powers to normal.
Powers and abilities[]
Spyke's mutant abilities allow his body to project and retract bone-like spikes from his body. Able to grow spears at such length. When drinking the Pow-R8 the chemicals caused his mutation to accelerate prematurely, almost his enitre upper body is encased with bone carapace and builds up some sort of chemicles to increase the heat within the tip of each spikes.
Personality[]
As the youngest member of the X-Men, Evan would much rather play basketball or skateboard than study; he has problems with authority. As such, this has brought him into problems with his team combined with his school work. Evan gain some maturity in his carefree personality from gaining advice from Superman and later his aunt's lover, T'Challa.
