Starfire, real name Koriand'r is a Tamaranean girl who was enslaved and experimented on by Gordanians.
History[]
At some point, planet Tamaran was invaded by the Gordanians, who demanded slaves in exchange for not attacking the planet. Koriand'r's family and others volunteered, and they were taken in as test subjects for experimentations.
The ship carrying her eventually arrived to the Sol System during a chase by a Kymellian cruiser, and was damaged during the jump. The ship was boarded by Admiral Aelfyre Whitemane, who discovered that she was the sole survivor amongst the hostages taken. As he prepared to free her, a Gordanian who had survived the ordeal attacked him, and the ship ended up plummetting towards Earth in the struggle, ripping in half in the process. Admiral Aelfyre was forced to activate the teleporters to get them all out before the ship crashed near Gotham City.
After she escaped, she ran into Superman and other members of the Justice League. Frightened and confused, she refused to let them help her, and started causing havoc in the city, while Robin and Batgirl tried to stop her. Superman finally caught up to her and ordered her to calm down so they could help her. Upon seeing the crest on his chest, all of a sudden she stopped, and started calling him a god of sorts. As they were talking, in order to learn their language, she grabbed Robin and kissed him, much to everyone's surprise. She then introduced herself and explained what had happened.
Personality[]
Starfire is joyous, naive, and somewhat insecure, but her naivete is not to be mistaken for stupidity. An alien and an outsider, she is still rather new to Earth and its customs. Despite being capable of huge violence when frightened, once she calmed down she showed to be extremely friendly and sociable, if somewhat awkward to others due to her apparent innocence.
Due to the fact Tamaraneans look up to Kryptonians as deities, she tends to refer to Superman as "Sky Lord", "Great One" and other names, much to his chagrin, despite the fact doesn't like being seen as a god.
Powers and abilities[]
Starfire possesses superhuman strength, agility and endurance native to her species, as well as the ability to fly. After being experimented on by the Gordanians, she gained the ability to project bright green energy from her body. She mainly discharges compact orbs from her hands which produce both thermal and explosive results on contact, although she's also capable of firing energy in the form of eye-beams, much like Superman. She's also capable of learning languages through lip contact, as shown when she learned English by kissing Robin.
