Madelyn Pryor is the aunt of Jean Grey and an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.
History[]
Madelyn developed her mutant powers of telekinesis during her puberty. Because of her powers, she was considered the black sheep in her family and was sworn by her mother to keep her powers a secret. However, Madelyn was not too shy in using her powers in playing tricks on her sister, Elaine Grey. It is also believed that Madelyn's niece, Jean Grey, inherited her mutant powers from her mother's side of the family. At some point in time, Madelyn joined S.H.I.E.L.D.
As the X-Men went public, Madelyn became the official liaison to the team, and eventually formed a relationship with Logan (much to the discomfort of her niece). However, after Nick Fury authorised the use of kryptonite weaponry to stop the renegade General Zod even when there was a chance that the weapon would kill Superman in the process, Madelyn officially resigned after Zod's defeat.

Like her niece, Madelyn possesses powerful telekinetic abilities, and thanks to her years of experience she's has greater control over them. She also has extensive military training in hand-to-hand combat as well as firearms.

Background information[]
In Marvel Comics, Madelyne Pryor was the clone of Jean Grey created by Mister Sinister, and was the wife of Cyclops. A series of traumas - being abandoned by her husband, losing her infant son, and discovering herself as a clone - eventually led to Madelyne being manipulated into becoming a supervillain.
