Shocker, real name Herman Schultz, is a criminal and assassin equipped in a battle-suit that can generate shock waves.
Herman Schultz was born in New York City and was a talented inventor who had turn to a life of crime. While in prison, he created his own battle-suit that can generate high-pressure air blasts, generating deadly shockwave vibrations, as well as enabling him to survive the deadly vibrations his suit generates. As the Shocker, he works as a hire gun often for the Kingpin and proven to be a constant presence among Spider-Man's gallery of enemies.
Shocker later came into conflict with Superman when he was hired by the Kingpin to hijack a ship carrying a shipment of arms. He over enthusiastically believed that his weapons could harm Superman and also obtaining his bounty posted by the Kingpin, but was totally surprised that his gauntlets did very ineffectively to harm the Man of Steel. Superman then torn off his gauntlets and unleashed a tiny fraction of his gale-breath that knocks Shocker out cold.
Shocker later joins the Sinister Six in an attempt to steal the Lexo-Skel 3000, and battles the Justice League; which he and Mysterio fought the Flash, Green Lantern, and Hawkgirl. After this, Shocker's gauntlets were ripped off by the Green Lantern and the criminal was then subdued by Hawkgirl.
