Tante Mattie is an old woman who lives in New Orleans, she has a history with Gambit and his cousin Clara LeBeau who were the only two out of the Thieves Guild she got along well. At some point in her past, she warned Killer Croc over the abuse of voodoo magic. In 2010, as the two guilds were on the verge of war she was supportive of Gambit to protect his cousin was the target and closes to being seen as family.
