Wolverine, also known as "Logan", is a mutant possessing adamantium claws and skeleton. A man with a murky past, Wolverine is one of the Xavier Institute's faculty and is in charge of the students combat and survival training and is famous among the students for his apparently difficult and challenging methods, as well as his strict and unyielding teaching manner.
Not much is known about the man calling himself Logan except that he had served in the Canadian military and participated in World War II. During the conflict, he was part of a Canadian reconnaissance unit that were reinforced by the Howling Commandos and became acquainted to Nick Fury, Captain America, and Namor. Near the end of 1945, Logan was present with Captain America in storming a fortress housing a nuclear missile aimed at the United States.
Thereafter, Logan became an unwilling experiment in Weapon X and was grafted with an adamantium skeleton, and given the code-name Wolverine. He sometime escaped the facility that experimented him. For an uncertain time, Logan met Professor Charles Xavier and becoming an instructor of combat and surviving at the Xavier Institute.
Logan's past with Weapon X would later haunt him back and was unwillingly summoned to work for a former Weapon X scientist, who revealed Wolverine that he was meant to become a "mutant-slayer". He fell under the scientist's thrall due to being controlled by a computer chip that was implanted in his brain since his captivity, and was forced to hunt down and kill Nightcrawler and Shadowcat, who they had inadvertently came with Logan. Shadowcat was able to break Logan free from his conditioning and the scientist's facility was destroyed during the battle. Logan's computer chip was then surgically removed by Reed Richards and Susan Storm of the Fantastic Four.
Powers and Abilties
His most notable use of powers and weapons are his adamantium claws as his entire skeletal structure is infused with it. HIs claws can cut through steel with ease.
Logan's mutan ability allows him to regenerate almost any wounds and instantly heals his body. Due to his mutant powers to regenerate to survive fatal damages, it also heals the cellular damages of his body, thus slowing the ageing process and retaining his phsyical appearance for a number of decades.
